Stormzy’s family warn him to beware of ‘money-grabbers’ after split from Love Island host Maya Jama

NO ONE could have predicted Maya Jama and Stormzy announcing their split just weeks after their PDA at Glastonbury.

And now, as if he doesn’t have enough to worry about, the megabucks rapper is being warned to watch out for gold-diggers queuing up to be his next girlfriend.

Love Island host Maya and Stormzy — who broke up in 2019 but reunited last August — released a joint statement earlier this week revealing they are over for good, adding: “We never, ever, in a million years thought we’d be the couple announcing a break-up.”

But now, I can reveal that Stormzy’s family are urging him to beware of “money-grabbers” only interested in his estimated £19million fortune.

A source said: “Maya was an independent woman and that was one of the things he loved about her.

“Now his family are worried about money-grabbers who are only after his cash.

“They loved Maya and are sad to see her go, but are hopeful that he dates a professional woman with her own cash and not a gold-digger.

“He has been advised to sign a watertight prenup when he gets married — using the break-up with Maya as an example of how even the best relationships can end.

“He loved Maya because she was a breadwinner in her own right — she loved gifts but could afford to treat herself.”

The couple were last pictured together on July 5 at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, having spent the previous weekend cosying up at Worthy Farm in Somerset during Glasto.

Last year, in an interview with Louis Theroux, Stormzy said he had bought himself a huge seven-bedroom home to raise a family in.

In October, he revealed his aspirations since turning 30 were to “be a better man of God, hopefully become a dad and to serve others”.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that all his dreams come true . . .

Jade: Mix door still open

JADE THIRLWALL may be making waves as a solo artist but she has not forgotten about her Little Mix bandmates.

This singer, who released her debut single Angel Of My Dreams on Friday, said: “We don’t talk as much, but it’s like family, you don’t have to message every day to have that connection.

“I did speak to them a few days ago. We coach each other through the solo stuff as we relied on each other so much for so long.”

Asked by Billboard magazine if she would reunite with the group,

Jade said: “Absolutely. I’d never close that door of us doing something together in the future.”

Adele’s cover version

ADELE tries to keep a low profile following a night out at London’s celeb haunt Chiltern Firehouse.

The Easy On Me hitmaker looked chic in a cream shirt and matching trousers while using her gold clutch bag to cover her face on Friday night.

Adele was joined by her husband Rich Paul with the pair holding hands following their date night.

It comes amid whispers Adele is moving back to her hometown of London after she recently spoke of a “big break” from music.

Her long-time assistant Rose Moon moved back to the UK a few weeks back and is believed to be planning the singer’s return.

A source said: “Adele is a Brit through and through, and London will always be her home.”

ADAM LAMBERT has revealed that he approved of Simon Cowell’s tough TV judging style on American Idol.

The singer, who was the show’s 2009 runner-up, said he didn’t want the music mogul to hold back when critiquing his performances.

Adam, whose EP Afters dropped on Friday, said: “I love direct honesty – that is what I want to hear – so I respect him for it.”

BLUR’s GRAHAM COXON has revealed he was so desperate for a wee just before playing Wembley Stadium last summer, he peed into a crew member’s drink.

The guitarist confessed about the embarrassing incident in the band’s new film, Blur: To The End.

He said: “I went backstage. There was a half empty tin of Diet Coke. So

“I had to go in that. I think it was one of the road crew’s. I hope they did not go back and finish it.”

Jen’s gems spell out marriage trouble

JENNIFER LOPEZ could do with spelling it out as rumours swirl over her marriage to Ben Affleck.

The American singer, who has previously shown devotion to her hubby with a chain bearing his first name, has replaced it with a gold diamond-encrusted piece saying “Jennifer”.

She teamed the jewellery with a black crop top and New York Yankees cap as she left luxury gym Equinox in The Hamptons, New York, on Friday.

But despite claims that her relationship with Ben is on the rocks, coupled with the fact she recently cancelled the North American leg of her 2024 This Is Me . . . Live tour, J-Lo is not keeping a low profile.

In fact, I can reveal she is in advanced talks for a long-running Las Vegas residency next year.

The star plans to show the world “why she remains one of the best entertainers alive” with a run at The Park MGM in Sin City. One Vegas casino executive confirmed: “You can’t keep Jennifer down for long.

“She has taken a series of hits this year, but she is on a mission to get out there in 2025 and show the world how great she is as a performer, entertainer and artist.

“The Vegas residency is pretty much a done deal.

“She is determined that the hard work she put in preparing for her tour will go into this residency.”

I, for one, can’t wait to see J-Lo back on stage again.

TWO big doses of Nineties indie nostalgia on the same night is a winner on every front.

Suede and the Manic Street Preachers put on dazzling performances on their co-headline tour – as if they were performing their songs for the first time.

Star of the show at London’s Alexandra Palace was Suede’s Brett Anderson who covered every inch of the stage.

The band performed hits including Trash and Metal Mickey but they still have the ability to re-invent themselves with every album.

Brett even declared Suede’s latest album Autofiction was their “best”, which is some feat given their back catalogue.

The crowd were in fine voice, helping him close the show with epic 1996 single Beautiful Ones.

The Manics – including frontman James Dean Bradfield – delivered faves such as A Design For Life to fans.

If more mega-bands ditch their egos like these two for a tour, I’ll be first in the queue.
