'Catwoman' Auditions - 4 Actresses Considered for Halle Berry's Role in Cult Classic Movie (an Oscar-Winner Turned it Down!)

Halle Berry‘s Catwoman might not have been a blockbuster success, but it will go down in history as one of the first superhero movies to center on a female hero.

Released in 2004, the movie won her a Razzie award for Worst Actress, which she gracefully accepted. Over the years, it’s taken on cult status amongst fans, who praise the actress for her action skills and move.

Since then, several other actresses have donned Catwoman’s iconic catsuit over the years, and each of them have brought something special to the role.

Interestingly, you might be surprised to learn that Halle was not the first actress who almost starred in her movie.

The project was in development for years before finally going into production with her at the lead. Over that time, four other actresses were considered. The list included an Oscar-winning actress who reportedly turned it down.
