Research suggests many Brits are a bit baffled by Gen Z terms[/caption]

For anyone baffled by lingo such as ‘hot girl summer’ and ‘lowkey’ this is the perfect assist.

The latest research suggests that many older people just don’t get Gen Z slang.

And many Gen Z cringe when middle aged types get the slang bit wrong.

Meryem Tom, Amazon Alexa’s UK Country Manager, said: “Alexa is ready to help with answers to everything, including keeping up to date with the very latest lingo.”

“Our research shows that there’s plenty of Brits out there who
can’t quite keep up with Gen Z’s jargon and we hope that Alexa’s new feature will be a reliable source of knowledge for those who want to brush up on their Gen Z vocabulary.”

Meanwhile the Echo Spot has had a revamp with a colourful display that focuses on the basics – serving as a trusty alarm clock.

And the brand new product is on offer as part of Prime Day this week for a limited time.

Users can choose from a variety of custom-designed clock faces to suit their room’s style.

This is the second version of the Echo Spot.

Amazon has done away with the full circle screen on the front and replaced half of it with a directional speaker.

It’s built for the nightstand, with a gradual lighting display that Amazon claims will make it easy to set and view alarms, see the time, weather, or song titles at a glance.

Despite being a basic feature, alarms are among Alexa’s most popular use tens of millions of times every day.

There are four alarm sounds, called Aurora, Daybreak, Endeavor, and Flutter.

For those who you want a bit more sleep, they can snooze their alarm by tapping the Echo Spot.

There are six different display colour themes, including orange, violet, magenta, lime, teal, and blue, or you can mix and match colours with a variety of clock faces.
