Abbe Pierre: French church knew of abuse claims against revered priest: researchers

Abbe Pierre, a celebrated French priest and humanitarian, was the subject of sexual abuse allegations known to the Catholic Church as early as 2021, members of an independent commission reported on Saturday. The late clergyman, who died in 2007, left a legacy of aiding the poor, but now faces accusations from several women dating back to between 1970 and 2005.
