Marseille also plucked Roberto De Zerbi as manager following his sacking at Brighton, and their Premier League raid is set to continue.

Hojbjerg, 28, fell out of favour at Spurs under Ange Postecoglou so the club are happy to let him leave this summer.

And according to Fabrizio Romano Marseille have had a bid worth £12m accepted for the midfielder.

Hojbjerg is reportedly happy to make the switch after speaking to De Zerbi.

And he could be joined in the south of France by a player who has been his rival in recent years – Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah.

Marseille have opened talks to sign the striker but an agreement is not close, according to Romano.

SunSport exclusively revealed in June how the Gunners were reluctantly willing to sell the Hale End graduate to pave the way for fresh attacking reinforcements.

Nketiah struggled for game time at the Emirates last season but attracted interest from a number of Premier League outfits, including Fulham.
