Everyone hates my baby name – I think it’s beautiful but people constantly make jokes and say he’ll ‘get bullied’ 

A WOMAN has revealed that she has chosen a baby name but everyone hates it.

The anonymous woman explained that she ‘absolutely loves’ the name, but every single member of her family, as well as her friends, aren’t keen.

Not only this, but Reddit users said that the baby name, which made people think of Forrest Gump, could lead to bullying[/caption]

Clearly unsure on what to do, the woman took to social media to share her dilemma, leaving many open-mouthed.

Posting on Reddit, on the BabyNamesHelp thread, under the username @anotherrandomerrr, the woman shared: “Everyone hates my baby name!”

She then wrote: “I have one favourite baby name that I absolutely love; however, all of my family and friends hate it.”

The social media user revealed the name she has chosen for her future son – Forrest.

But whilst she thinks it’s ‘beautiful’, she shared that people have already begun to make Forrest Gump jokes.

Not only this, but she claimed that people have even gone as far to suggest that her son, who would have the same name as the film character Forrest, who has a crooked spine and was forced to wear leg braces, will end up with a disability. 

She added: “Obviously I’m getting the usual Forrest Gump jokes but some people have even gone as far as to say that my baby will end up with a limp or mental disabilities.”

But the woman explained that she thinks the name, which wasn’t inspired by the 1994 comedy romance film, is ‘perfect’ for her child.

Despite this, she was keen to hear advice from fellow Reddit users on what they thought of the moniker.

She concluded: “Personally, I think the name is beautifully whimsical and is the perfect name for my son. 

“However, if you have any similar names or suggestions I’d love to hear them!”

But people were divided – whilst many thought it was ‘cute’, they also warned her that such a moniker could lead to ‘teasing’ and ‘bullying’. 

One person said: “It’s different and cute but you should definitely be careful. 

“Kids getting bullied for their name is a real thing. But it’s YOUR Son so it’s your decision.” 

Another added: “It’s a very cute name however the connection to Forrest Gump may lead to a bit of teasing, your call.” 

Meanwhile, a third commented: “I don’t see how Forrest Gump is a bad association other than his disability, he’s a great guy!! I love that movie.” 

Whilst someone else penned: “I think it’s a nice name! Never heard of Forrest Gump though..”
