‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ screening at Saratoga’s summer movie nights

Outdoor series continues on Aug. 9 at El Quito Park.

The latest installment in Saratoga’s summer movie nights is taking place on Friday, Aug. 9, at El Quito Park with a screening of “Kung Fu Panda 4.”

The movie will start at sunset, approximately 8 p.m., but the city is encouraging attendees to come early to participate in family activities and stop by the city’s resource tables.

‘P L A C E’ symposium

Montalvo Arts Center is hosting a closing symposium for “P L A C E: Reckonings by Asian American Artists” on Sunday, Aug. 11.

The event, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will bring together the artists and curators behind the exhibit in a series of panel discussions throughout the day.

The exhibit, co-curated by Montalvo, is on view at Institute of Contemporary Art San José, 560 S. First St. in downtown San Jose.

Tickets are $30 at https://my.montalvoarts.org; students admitted free.

Saratoga Library exhibit

High school senior Lillian Su’s is exhibiting her digital artworks and oil paintings at the Saratoga Library this summer.

The exhibit includes pieces that depict some of Su’s favorite scenery and her personal reflections on the youth perspective. The exhibit, called “Timeless Tides,” is on view during the library’s open hours through the end of July.
