Troy Police search for suspect of alleyway shooting

Troy Police are still searching for a suspect in a shooting on Saturday that has left two people in critical but stable condition.

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Troy Police are still searching for a suspect in a shooting on Saturday that has left two people in critical but stable condition. Police said both victims received life-saving medical treatment from the Troy Fire Department before being transported to a local hospital.

Just before 3 a.m. on Saturday, police arrived at an alleyway between 2nd Street and 4th Street near Tyler Street for a 19-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy who had gunshot wounds. Police said during their investigation on Saturday, they found out the victims were walking down the alleyway when the suspect approached them.

Police said the victims and suspect spoke briefly, and the interaction escalated, resulting in the shooting. Both detectives and evidence technicians interviewed witnesses and the victims and began reviewing video surveillance near the area where the shooting took place.
