Beloved charity with 750 UK shops will close popular branch for good in days for little-known reason

A BELOVED charity with 750 shops across the UK is set to close a popular branch for good in days for a little-known reason.

The British Heart Foundation’s store on High Street in High Wycombe is set to close for the last time on July 27.

The branch will be closed for good after the building fell into disrepair, a source told the Bucks Free Press.

The same source also claimed all staff were set to be made redundant.

The Sun has reached out to the charity for comment.

One customer told the Free Press: “It’s quite sad, to be honest. It’s one of the best charity shops in town as I’ve got a fair bit of furniture from there.”

The shop sold items such as TVs, sofas, cabinets, rugs, tables, beds and mattresses amongst other household goods.

Items have slashed half price as the final day looms closer.

Meanwhile popular charity shop RSPCA is shutting its Kenilworth store at Abbey End amid soaring rental prices.

All the items in the store are now being sold for slashed prices – up to 50 per cent off.

While the staff have not yet confirmed a date for the closure, the shop has decided not to renew its current lease which ends on August 31.

The closure comes after charity shop Scope, which has over 190 branches in the UK, decided to close down one of its stores in Worcestershire.

Described as a “wonderful” charity outlet by saddened shoppers, the branch announced it will be permanently locking its doors on Saturday, June 1.

Scope made the decision to shut its shop in St Swithin’s Street, Worcester, after it was unable to renew the lease on the building.

The beloved shop has been a staple on the high street for over 15 years and is run by a dedicated team of helpful volunteers.
