HELTER SKELTER (5.25 Ayr, nap)
He’s yet to win in 11 starts, but he was extremely unlucky not to win at Hamilton last time. He timed his run to perfection in the first-time headgear, but he hung slightly under pressure and that cost him in the final strides. There wasn’t much he did wrong and he really deserves to get the monkey off his back. He is only 1lb higher and drops in grade, which should finally allow him to get off the mark for Rebecca Menzies.
SEEK AND DESTROY (7.50 Windsor, nb)
She put her experience to good use to win a maiden here latest, going clear with a useful rival. She goes handicapping off a good mark and can go in again for Ralph Beckett.
BONA FORTUNA (7.20 Windsor, treble)
Was returning from a 256-day absence when beating two useful rivals at Brighton. He’s just the type Mick Appleby does well with and an opening mark of 75 gives him lots of room to improve for his shrewd trainer.
