'You morons': Trump campaign busted for attack on Kamala Harris' disability outreach

Shortly after Joe Biden endorsed his running mate Kamala Harris to be the next president, Donald Trump's campaign shared a video mocking the vice president for a video in which she is addressing a group advocating disability rights.

In the video, Harris is seen saying, "I am Kamala Harris, my pronouns are she and her, and I am a woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit."

RNC Research, which is managed by the Trump campaign, posted the video on Sunday. The group only posted Harris' quote about her identity and what she's wearing.

The problem, of course, is that it appears that the Trump campaign didn't do its "research" into the context of the meeting itself. According to reports, Harris was meeting "with disability rights leaders to mark the anniversary of the ADA."

According to the Atlantic's analysis, "Harris’s event was held on the anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act and focused on the effect of new abortion restrictions on the disabled. One convention meant to accommodate blind and visually impaired audiences is a brief self-description by the speaker. Other speakers at the same event, all putative humans, did the same."

Even a former Trump campaign aide, A.J. Delgado, brought up the disability rights aspect of the meeting.

"She was addressing a table of the blind, you morons," she wrote Sunday.
