Joe Biden announced Sunday he is ending his bid for a second term and endorsing radical pro-abortion Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee.

The move comes as Biden is home isolating with COVID and comes after a disastrous debate performance that prompted dozens of leading Democrats to call him to step aside.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President,” he said in a statement on Sunday. “And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

Biden then asked Democrats to support Harris, who finished last in the Democrat primary 4 years ago.

“My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President,” he said in a separate post on “X,” formerly known as Twitter. “And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”

Biden released a statement on Friday indicating that he has no plans of dropping out of the presidential race even as Democrats across the country are calling for him to drop out.

Biden issued a statement through his campaign where he attacked former President Donald Trump and said he would push forward.

He made crazy claims that Trump “destroyed our economy once and will inflict pain on the middle class” and that he “wants to gut the checks and balances of our Constitution and rule as a dictator on day one.”

“Together, as a party and as a country, we can and will defeat him at the ballot box,” Biden said. “I look forward to getting back on the campaign trail next week to continue exposing the threat of Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda while making the case for my own record and the vision that I have for America: one where we save our democracy, protect our rights and freedoms, and create opportunity for everyone.”

Dozens of elected Democrats have called on Biden to drop out the race following his disastrous debate performance against Trump and his increasingly frequent mental health lapses.

Biden Campaign Chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a followup, “You have heard from the President directly time and again: He is in this race to win, and he is our nominee, and he’s going to be our President for a second term.”

But Biden and Kamala Harris have been the most radically pro-abortion administration in American history. And Biden and Democrats are determined to wipe out every pro-life law in the nation with the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act. If they retain Congress and the White House, they will likely scrap or modify the filibuster to pass the bill and make America pro-abortion across all 50 states.
