Throughout the Olympics, Google will work together with NBC to incorporate artificial intelligence into their coverage.

“This collaboration is more than just a sponsorship; it’s a powerful alliance that brings together the best of technology and sports,” US Olympic & Paralympic Committee CEO Sarah Hirshland stated.

“By working with Google and NBCUniversal, we are ensuring that our athletes’ stories are told in the most dynamic and engaging ways possible.

“This partnership will inspire millions and amplify the incredible efforts of Team USA as they compete on the world stage.”

Meanwhile, the President of NBC’s Olympic and Paralympic Partnerships, Dan Lovinger, said that this collaboration, “Demonstrates the endless possibilities when you combine innovative technology with premium content to enhance the viewing experience for fans of all ages.”

One of their collaborative efforts, “Explain The Games” will utilize Google Search’s AI Overviews throughout their coverage.

NBC’s stars will explain to viewers how they can answer any questions they may have about the Olympic and Paralympic Games using Google Search’s AI Overviews.

Elsewhere, actor and comedian Leslie Jones who will be serving as NBC’s Chief Superfan Commentator, will also be involved in the network’s AI revolution.

She will be using Google Gemini to create “custom moves or learn a new sport.”

NBC will also be producing social media content starring five Olympians and Paralympians in which explore Paris.

In these productions, the athletes will be using “Google Lens, Circle to Search, Immersive View in Google Maps and Gemini, highlighting their AI-powered features.”

What’s more, using Google Maps’ 3D Tiles, NBC will be able to show viewers 3D views of the Olympic venues.

Not that this is the first use of AI NBC has announced in the lead-up to Paris.

In June, the network announced that they would be using AI to recreate legendary commentator Al Michaels’ voice to cover highlights for “Your Daily Olympic Recap on Peacock.”

Using NBC’s Olympic Hub, fans can specify what highlights they want to be kept up to date on.
