Stock market today: Asian shares fall after Biden withdraws from the 2024 race

Asian stocks are mostly lower after President Joe Biden exited the 2024 race. The downbeat start to the week followed losses on Wall Street on Friday as businesses around the world scrambled to contain disruptions from a massive technology outage. U.S. futures were little changed and oil prices rose. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index lost 1.3% early Monday and most other regional markets declined. The S&P 500 fell 0.7% Friday to close its first losing week in the last three and its worst since April. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.9%, while the Nasdaq composite sank 0.8%.
