Jay Shah Announces Rs 8.5 Crore Support for IOA’s Paris Olympics Bid
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) received a contribution of Rs 8.5 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday, which was declared as financial support for the Indian athletes heading to the Olympics in Paris.
The first day of the Paris Games is July 26.
“I am proud to announce that the @BCCI will be supporting our incredible athletes representing #India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are providing INR 8.5 Crores to the IOA for the campaign,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah wrote on his ‘X’ account.
“To our entire contingent, we wish you the very best. Make India proud! Jai Hind!”
India will send up to 117 competitors to the Olympics in Paris. There will be a contingent of 257 people total, including 140 support personnel.
