I hated my boring hallway so transformed it with a £14 B&Q buy – I love how it looks, people beg me to do theirs next
A WOMAN has revealed that she hated her plain white hallway, so used cheap buys from the high street to give it a total transformation.
Anna Byrne, a DIY fan and first-time buyer from Northern Ireland, explained that her uncle helped to give her hallway a mega makeover.
The homeowner shared that she used a £14 buy from B&Q, and now people are begging her to give their home an overhaul too.
Anna took to social media to show off a before, during and after look at her home, leaving many open-mouthed.
The brunette beauty posted her clip with the caption ‘Transform my hallway with me’ and said: “I hated my white hallway, so I got my uncle to help me put up these panelling packs that I bought in B&Q.”
Anna explained that the panelling packs, which she nabbed for £14 a pack and used two packs for one wall, were already pre-cut, making them “really easy to put up”.
Once the panelling squares were added to the walls, Anna used wood filler and caulk to fill in any gaps.
Following this, she added: “Once the wood filler was dry, I got a sanding block and sanded down all of the wood, just to make sure everything was smooth and then I went in with a wood primer and primed all of these wooden panels.”
Anna explained that she saved cash by buying cheap colour match paints.
She continued: “Once the primer had dried, I started to paint the panel section on the wall – I used the colour match of Farrow & Ball’s Old White for the panelling part of this wall.
“Once the panelling was done, I went in with the colour School House White, well a colour match of it from Farrow & Ball.
“I also decided to paint all of the doors the same colour as the panelling and I love the way it’s turned out.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @annabyrne466, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 80,700 views.
