My mum tried the viral shower curtain trend in our garden but I think it looks terrible, and trolls agree it has to stop
IT’S the trend thousands of people have sworn by to transform their gardens into tranquil spaces.
But others have insisted the practice of putting up shower curtains outside – to cover fences or grotty walls – is “terrible”.
The differences of opinion came to the forefront when Wendy tried out the trend, but her daughter Annabelle was less than impressed.
“There’s a serious debate in our house this afternoon,” she said in a video on their joint TikTok page.
“As to whether these shower curtains, which people are putting on their garden fences, look good or not.
“And she’s absolutely loving it!”
Annabelle then turned the camera around to show the shower curtain in place.
“I think they’re terrible!” she laughed, which earned her a stern look from Wendy.
“But there are very mixed thoughts on TikTok.
“I just think they don’t look great but my mum has a very different opinion and loves hers!”
“Shower curtains in the garden – thoughts?” she captioned the video.
And people 9in the comments section were equally divided, with one writing: “I’ve never seen anything like it!
“God noooooo,” another sighed.
“Looks cheap and tacky,” a third commented.
“No please, they’re naff!” someone else said.
“B**ody awful!” another added.
“I frickin hate them!!!” someone else raged.
“Absolutely not!” another insisted.
But others were on board with the quick and cheap decor idea.
“I’ve got one on my wall and when you put plants either side it looks good,” one wrote.
“I think they are very creative and look good,” another agreed.

ANOTHER trend that has taken social media by storm is the shower curtain trend.
The trend sees people buying large shower curtains with fun prints on them, usually of exotic locations, and hanging them on their garden fence or wall.
The idea is to transform dull gardens into something slightly more exciting – and that’s exactly what many homeowners have done.
People attached the water-proof fabric to the fence, creating an optical illusion of a sunny island paradise right in their back yard.
“I’ve got one up on the fence,” a third commented.
“When I sit in my conservatory I now look at flowers & not my neighbours wooden fence! Looks great!”
“I love them and have several in my garden,” someone else said.
“They look great lol… brightens things up lol… you are on pretend holiday now,” another laughed.
“I’ve got four and I absolutely love mine!” someone else said.
