Poundland shoppers rush to buy popular discontinued chocolate bar back on shelves they ‘need in their lives’

A popular discontinued chocolate has appeared back on shop shelves in Poundland to the delight of bargain hunters.

Fans of MilkyWay’s Crispy Rolls have discovered the sweet treat is back in shops after being axed by Mars two years ago.

Shoppers were left devastated when they were discontinued and the bar regularly tops polls of chocolates they would like to see return.

Plus, a “Bring Back The Mars Milky Way Crispy Rolls” petition has reached almost 10,000 signatures.

But chocolate aficionados can now breathe a sigh of relief after the treats were spotted on shelves at Poundland.

An eagle-eyed shopper spotted that the chocolates were on sale and, writing in the Facebook group B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Saving Deals and More, shared a photo of the products in store, writing: “Not in bnm but in poundland these are in.”

One person commented: “Didn’t realise they still made these!”

Another tagged their friend’s name, and wrote: “Your mission to find these for my birthday please.

Someone else simply said: “Mmmmmmmm.”

And one person added: “All the Crispy Rolls.”

The MilkyWay crispy rolls are also on sale in B&M.

Previously, the bargain retailer was selling boxes of Milky Way crispy rolls for just 16p a piece, but they now cost £1.

If you want to grab a pack, you can find your nearest Poundland or B&M store by using the locator tool.

When the rolls were first discontinued in 2022 , a Mars spokesperson told The Sun: “While Milky Way Crispy Rolls are currently in a galaxy far, far away we’re pleased to offer many delicious alternatives such as Milky Way Magic Stars, Maltesers, Mars and of course, the traditional Milky Way.

“The love for Milky Way Crispy Rolls has been out of this world and we’ve certainly taken note.”

The Poundland and B&M offers are hard to beat, but it’s always a wise idea to shop around.

You can compare the cost of items across different retailers using price comparison tools such as Google Shopping and Trolley.co.uk.

The Milky Way Crispy Roll isn’t the only discontinued treat to be reinstated on shoppers’ shelves.

B&M are also selling a dupe for the retro treat Tooty Frooties– called Fruit Blast.

Cadbury announced it would be bringing back the beloved Cadbury Top Deck for a limited time.

First launched in 1993, the retro bars disappeared from shelves in the late 90s – but the iconic chocolate bar is being revived as part of Cadbury’s 200th anniversary celebrations.

And B&M shoppers have been rushing to buy another new Cadbury bar based on an iconic Australian dessert.

The discounter often imports stock from Down Under to customer fanfare including most recently Dairy Milk Raspberry bars.

How to save money on chocolate

WE all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed on flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
