Mom mocks her ex for naming his kids Tempest and Leviathan – but is told her own son’s name is ‘so so so bad’

A MOM thought other parents would join her in laughing at the names her ex gave his other kids – but they insisted her choice was worse.

She had been bragging about her son’s name while mocking the moniker her ex chose for his two other kids.

The mother was criticized for the name she gave her son after sharing it on Reddit’s Tragedeigh forum.

POOR JUDGEMENT

She said it’s only a rare occasion that she has to correct people on the spelling of her son’s name.

Despite acknowledging that it’s unconventional, she said his name isn’t as strange as the moniker her ex gave his kids.

“My son’s name is Krystopher,” she said in a now-deleted post.

“I know I spelled it weird, that one isn’t the name I’m talking about.

“My ex went and had two more kids with someone else and named them Tempest and Leviathan.”

TOUGH CROWD

The post went viral with over 1,000 upvotes and a flood of comments from people sharing their opinions on the name.

She wasn’t expecting to become the butt of the joke as Redditors turned their attention to Krystopher rather than Tempest and Leviathan.

“Krystopher is so so so bad,” one person said.

“Intentionally misspelling a common name looks uneducated as f**k and is way crueler than naming your kid a weird but correctly spelled noun,” another commented.

“Tempest and especially Leviathan are heinous, don’t get me wrong, but the call is coming from inside the house.”

A third commenter said Leviathan can be shortened to “Levi,” whereas misspelling Christopher as Krystopher isn’t “funny, unique, or cute.”

Among the stream of comments were Redditors saying they liked the names Tempest and Leviathan.

Meanwhile, others told the mom that Krystopher would have a difficult time with the spelling of his name throughout his life.

“When applying for things over the phone who will have more problems?” one person said.

“Tempest, Leviathan, or Krystopher? People should know how to spell tempest and leviathan – and if not they can easily look it up.

“Krystopher however, you have doomed your son to forever say the phrase “Krystopher spelled K… R … Y…. S….”

“And the number of times your son’s important information will get lost because someone files it under Christopher will be debilitating.

“Like medical records. Job applications, tax returns, IDs even! You have hamstrung your son for life.”

What does Krystopher mean?

According to The Bump, Krystopher is a Greek name meaning “bearing Christ.”

Alternative spellings of the boy’s name include Kristopher and Christopher.

Krystopher has increased in popularity in recent years.

The discussion comes after another mom confessed in a post on What To Expect that she hates her daughter’s name.

She said it was chosen after struggling to agree on a moniker with her husband.

She raged that “no one understands” when she calls her daughter “Ottilie” and many people are unable to spell it.

The mom settled on nicknaming her “Tilly” after receiving it as a suggestion.
