One employee of the discount store is dishing the details on how to score the marked-down makeup.
Redditor Fentoozlers posted the advice on the social media platform.
She said there are special indicators that could mean a brand-name item in stock.
The employee also added a few of her own cosmetic buys, including beauty tools.
She shared a specific label to look out for on packaging to find a decent dupe for a pricier product.
HOW TO SAVE
The Dollar Tree employee said that sometimes brand-name items arrive in stock with plain packaging.
She said there are still ways to identify those products.
“Try looking for iridescent pink bags for name brand nail polish and lipsticks, and then white cardboard handing up,” she said.
She said that her store recently had foundations from Revlon and Maybelline.
The Redditor added a few of her own favorites from Dollar Tree.
“I get lots of my nail polishes from there, general things like tweezers and spoolies, and I like to get the lipsticks as well,” she said.
“LA Colors brand is really fun and they usually have themed collections, currently we have a cute boba tea collection.
“Mine also has lots of fun headbands and hair clips as well. We carry things like storage for vanities too.”
FINDING THE DUPES
The Dollar Tree employee shared her specific method for spotting dupes quickly.
She said the discovery came as the discount store has been receiving many products that could replace pricier ones.
“I have seen face lotion that says, ‘compare to Cerave moisturizer’ straight on the packaging,” she added.
“I haven’t compared ingredients or anything, just see things in passing.
“But it’s worth looking out for dupes as well, if you want to compare ingredients.”
