THE start of the Paris 2024 Olympics is just days away, with the official opening ceremony taking place this Friday.

When is the Paris 2024 Olympics?
- The official opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics will take place on Friday, July 26 on the River Seine.
- The ceremony will begin at 6.30pm BST (7.30pm local time)
- Preliminary action starts on the slightly earlier date of Wednesday, July 24, with football and rugby sevens, then also handball and archery will begin on Thursday, July 25.
- The Paris 2024 Olympics will run until Sunday, August 11.
How to watch the Paris 2024 Olympics and can the games be live streamed FREE?
Discovery+ is the main rights holder for the Paris 2024 Olympics and will provide “wall-to-wall linear coverage on its Eurosport channels (1 and 2), along with seven dedicated Olympic ‘pop-up’ channels”.

BBC One and Two will air the biggest events from the 33rd Olympic Games and will provide an Olympics Extra channel available on iPlayer, Red Button and online.
However, the BBC can only show two events happening at any moment live at the same time due to discovery+ being the main European rights holder.
