Brit man, 35, found dead in Spanish hols hotspot ‘had gash on forehead’ as mystery surrounding ‘violent’ death deepens

A BRITISH man who was found dead at a popular Spanish holiday hotspot had a two-inch gash on his forehead, it has emerged.

Mystery surrounds the death of the 35-year-old Brit whose body was discovered near a beach in the village of Mojacar.

Blood was reportedly seen on the walls and the floor of the spot where he was found on Sunday.

Spanish cops continue to probe whether he suffered an accident or could have been the victim of a crime.

An official in the southern Andalucia region Pedro Fernandez, told the local press: “We have to wait for the autopsy and that’s going to be very important in helping to indicate how this could have happened.

“He had a cut on his forehead of around four or five centimetres.

“Nothing is being ruled out at the moment. It could have been accidental.”

The body was found near Vantanicas beach, a popular local spot for visitors to the area.

Although it is not yet clear whether the British man lived in the area or was on holiday, he was found dead in a house and not a hotel.

It was also confirmed this morning that Court of Instruction Number Four in the town of Vera, the court police are reporting to, is still awaiting information.

A court official said: “The investigating judge has yet to receive the autopsy results.”

It comes after last week another Brit died in Spain after he and his wife were allegedly hit by a drunk driver outside their hotel.

The couple were making their way back to their hotel just after 11pm when a car hit them as they crossed a road near Los Alcázares.

Last month another Brit was stabbed to death outside a nightclub in Barcelona.

Cops have made an arrest after a 30-year-old man was killed outside the Oxygen nightclub in the popular resort town of Calella.
