Schenectady man arrested for allegedly having stolen gun

State Police announced the arrest of a Schenectady man following a traffic stop in Glenville.

GLENVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State Police announced the arrest of a Schenectady man following a traffic stop in Glenville. Arkise Alexander, 21, faces multiple charges.

Charges

  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property

State Police made a traffic stop on Freemans Bridge Road in Glenville on Sunday and upon investigating, they reportedly found that Alexander was a passenger of the car and allegedly had a handgun. It is also alleged that this handgun was stolen from North Carolina in 2019.

Alexander was arrested and transported to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
