Health food eatery in Saratoga Springs up for sale

After six years, Allen Caruso and Brandon Acres have decided to sell their business Thorn + Roots. The health food eatery has two locations in Saratoga Springs and Burlington, Vermont, as well as a food truck.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- After six years, Allen Caruso and Brandon Acres have decided to sell their business Thorn + Roots. The health food eatery has two locations in Saratoga Springs and Burlington, Vermont, as well as a food truck.

"This decision was not made lightly, but it is the right time for us to explore new opportunities and challenges," Caruso told NEWS10.

Thorn + Roots offers juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, grain and salad bowls, and avocado toast. Both locations at 46 Marion Avenue in Saratoga Springs and 92 Church Street in Burlington, as well as the food truck, are included in the sale.

"Brandon and I set out in 2018 to bring something different and fresh to the area, and it’s been an incredible journey," Caruso. "We were the first fast casual health-conscious concept in the area. We’ve taken it as far as we can as the owners and our vision has always been to expand on a national level. We’re looking for the next person to take that vision and do just that."

Caruso said they've had a lot of interest in the business so far, but haven't found the next person to take over yet. Thorn + Roots will remain open until a buyer is found.
