Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman endorses Kamala Harris

(WHTM) - U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday.

Fetterman was perhaps one of Biden's strongest supporters in Congress, repeatedly standing up for the president when Democrats nationwide called for Biden to step down.

"Proud to support and be all in for the next president, @KamalaHarris" Fetterman posted on X.

Fetterman was the last Democratic Pennsylvania lawmaker in Congress to publicly endorse Harris with his post coming hours after the last two members of Pennsylvania's House Democratic caucus publicly threw their support behind Harris on Monday morning.

Following President Biden's debate performance last month, Fetterman told Democrats to "chill the f--- out" and joined Biden when he campaigned in Pennsylvania earlier this month.

“I don’t understand why,” Fetterman said, speaking on “Morning Joe” on MSNBC back in February about Democrats starting to sound the alarms over Biden's ability to beat Donald Trump. “I don’t know what’s in it for you to do that whether you’re just chasing clout or you want to make it in the news or anything like that. But if you’re not willing to just support the president now and say these kinds of things, you might as well just get your MAGA hat, because you now are helping Trump with this.”

Pennsylvania's ties to the presidential election could grow strong with Governor Josh Shapiro being floated as a potential Vice Presidential candidate.

Election Day is November 5.
