Power cuts on rotation if load demand still high

Τhe Cyprus distribution system operator has called on the public to restrict the consumption of electricity between 6pm and 10pm, in order to prevent having to cut the load on rotation.

The Electricity Authority has said that due to the prolonged heatwave and the high demand of electricity, the systems will be working to maximum capacity between 6pm and 10pm.

If necessary, the load will be placed on rotation with half-hour power cuts.

The operator apologises for any inconvenience in advance.

The Cyprus energy regulatory authority has been informed of the situation.
