Trump will ‘overplay his hand’ with efforts to destroy Kamala Harris: ex-aide

After President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, the co-hosts of "The View" came together Monday to predict Donald Trump's downfall against Vice President Kamala Harris.

Whoopi Goldberg began with a takedown of Democrat-tuned-independent U.S. Senator, Joe Manchin (WV), who spent much of Sunday afternoon speculating on whether to change back to being a Democrat so he could run to fill Biden's spot. On Monday, he declared he'd decided not to.

"Mr. Manchin, don't even think about it," Goldberg said. "Sit down! We don't want you. We don't want you. We saw what you did. Go on and stay wherever you are."

But it was former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin who described how she believes Trump will handle Harris as an opponent.

"The Trump campaign is going to overplay its hand," Griffin promised. "They're going to lean too hard into sexist, misogynistic attacks."

As a case in point, senior Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway didn't waste any time attacking Harris using what some identified as racist tropes on Fox News Sunday night.

Griffin predicted that Trump would further alienate the independent and Nikki Haley swing voters.

"I think they're going to go way too far with her and alienate a lot of voters," Griffin said.
