BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An Angola man has pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge in connection with a fatal crash that took the life of a Hamburg woman in February, the Erie County District Attorney's Office said Monday.
Anthony Rydzewski, 41, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree manslaughter. Around 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 28, he was driving at a high rate of speed on Route 5 in Hamburg when he caused the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle, 37-year-old Jenny Zuhlke, died at the scene. Rydzewski was taken to ECMC where he was treated for injuries.
Rydzewski was located in Crawford County in Pennsylvania and was brought back to Western New York in April.
He faces up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on Aug. 30. He is being held without bail.
