41-year-old Lucy told of her son Carter’s “tough” week whom she shares with husband Lewis Devine.

Carter is her second child with the Donna-Marie Quinn actress also being mum to daughter Sienna Rae whom she shares with her ex, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall.

Opening up on her week, Lucy-Jo revealed Carter had endured several “sleepless nights” which comes months after a scary hospital dash in which he was revealed to have a water infection.

Lucy shared two images to her Instagram account – one of her looking typically glam as well as another of her breaking down in tears.

The actress said: “This is me and this is also me.”

She went on to share at length the difficulties she had faced with her son’s “really challenging” behaviour.

Lucy said: “I don’t normally post things like this… But when I mentioned my ’emotional’ week on my stories, I had so many of you reach out to me saying how much you can relate. This week has been tough, I’ve really not coped well…

“I’ve had a lot of work on, followed by a lot of sleepless nights (with carter not being 100%) that has then lead to him being really challenging.

“And there’s a lot of times that I’ve been able to cope with him and his behaviour, but this week… it just broke me.

“Being a parent is the most rewarding job in the world, but also one of the hardest. It’s ok to have a cry, it’s ok to not cope, we’re human and all have limits… and being a working mum in today’s world is tough.

The star went on to say: “Life is tough, and incredibly fast paced these days… so I just wanted you to know that I’m feeling what you’re feeling, overwhelmed, exhausted, pulled in all directions, emotional and that it’s ok to hit a wall and get to a place where you break down. It’s important to feel that and let it all out….

“So just know you’re not alone… I’m with you… I feel you… and it’s ok to have those down days.

“We’ve got this.”

Lucy went on to share a further snap where she had gotten all dressed up once more as she decalred: “Today’s a new day.”

The Hollyoaks star added: “I am all cried out after last week…. And I’ve shaken myself off, had a more chilled day yesterday at the in laws (which was just what the doctor ordered ☺ because they’re amazing) and I’m feeling more like old self again.”

Lucy was left terrified last year when Carter was left in A&E owing to an infection which left him requiring treatment.

That hospital dash came after her youngest child was admitted to hospital at just 18 months old after suffering from a very severe nut allergy.

Lucy was left fearing Carter could die after he suffered an anaphylactic shock after consuming a product which contained traces of nuts as a baby.
