“Because none of us just live in a silo. Everything is in context,” she saidin the speech.

Then, with a laugh, she said: “My mother used to — she would give us a hard time sometimes, and she would say to us, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?’ ”

She more seriously went on to say: “You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you.”

The last half of that speech had gone on to become a meme on TikTok and beyond, with people inserting the audio into pop songs, remixing it into viral clips of the Vice President dancing, and so much more. It’s become so popular, that the mere use of the coconut emoji alone is now a nod to the meme!
