Three killed in Greene County car crash

Three people have died after a car crash in Greene County. The Greene County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened on Saturday, July 20 around 4:50 p.m. on Route 23 in Windham.

WINDHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Three people have died after a car crash in Greene County. The Greene County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened on Saturday, July 20 around 4:50 p.m. on Route 23 in Windham.

The Sheriff's Office responded to the two-car crash on Route 23 near Cross Road. Deputies found that the two cars, a Buick SUV and a Chevrolet Silverado, collided head-on.

The driver of the SUV, Dennis Hitchcock, 76, and passenger Stephanie Hitchcock, 52, both of Windham, were taken to Albany Medical Center. Stephanie Hitchcock later died of her injuries at the hospital.

The other two passengers in the vehicle, Deborah Hitchcock, 75, and William Hitchcock, 51, both of Windham, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Silverado was taken to Albany Med for evaluation.
