Man Utd set to loan out youth pair who have torn it up in pre-season but fans hail move as they look to future

They lost to Rosenborg last week but responded with a 2-0 win over Rangers with Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill getting on the scoresheet.

Hugill came off the bench and impressed, firing an emphatic finish past the goalkeeper after being played in by Maxi Oydele.

Now the striker is expected to depart on loan alongside fellow youngster Radek Vitek, according to Manchester Evening News.

Vitek started against Rosenborg and was named man of the match after pulling off a string of saves.

He is expected to be included in United‘s pre-season tour of the US with Tom Heaton and Altay Bayindir still unavailable after reaching the latter stages of Euro 2024.

That means Vitek could feature against Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Betis, before making a loan move.

The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, while Hugill spent time at Burton.

Fans have called on Ten Hag to play Vitek more often after his performance against Rosenborg.

Former Red Devil Ronny Johnsen also sang his praises, saying: “The saves he had were very important and, also for a goalkeeper, to come in and make saves like this in your first game is important.

“He has stood up and made himself big – which he is.

“He was doing really good saves.”

Fans are supportive of the club sending the duo out on loan as they believe it will help aid their development.

One fan said: “That’s great if they can go out there and develop through first team football in championship probably, then it will be good.”

Another added: “The loan will help improve them. That’s good.”

And a third wrote: “Let’s hope they gain experience and come back stronger.”
