Nearly $5,000 of boating equipment stolen from Mountain View boat house

A Mountain View police officer was dispatched to the boat house at 3160 N. Shoreline Blvd. on Sunday after the theft was reported.

MOUNTAIN VIEW — Police here are investigating the theft of about $4,700 worth of boating equipment from Shoreline Park Boat House.

Three items were reported missing from the business, located at 3160 N. Shoreline Blvd. One item taken was an inflatable Zodiac Cadet RIB 290 power boat with an estimated value of $2,400. The other two items were an outboard boat engine valued at around $2,000 and a marine battery, which was estimated to cost $300.

A Mountain View police officer was dispatched to the boat house on Sunday after the theft was reported. The business stated that the power boat was taken some time on or after Saturday.

There is currently no suspect information or surveillance video available for the area where the items were stolen. Mountain View detectives are continuing the investigation.
