EXCLUSIVE: Florsheim and Psudo Collaborate on Sustainable Sneaker Collection for Summer 2024

The collection blends Florsheim's heritage craftsmanship with Psudo's sustainable manufacturing techniques.

American shoe brand Florsheim is teaming up with sustainable sneaker brand Psudo for a summer 2024 sneaker collection that blends Florsheim’s heritage craftsmanship with Psudo’s sustainable manufacturing techniques.

The Florsheim x Psudo collection launches on Aug. 5 in three groups — basic, summer and bold — which include seven colorways that feature Psudo’s signature 3D printed upper: one piece of fabric that includes printed laces and other designs. The collection of slip-on sneakers will be available on the Florsheim website and in select Florsheim stores, with each pair priced at $140 each.

Milton Florsheim established his eponymous brand in 1892 when he began producing high-quality shoes in a small factory in Chicago, Ill. The brand returned to its roots in May 2002 when Weyco Group, which was headed by Milton’s great-grandsons Tom and John Florsheim purchased the Florsheim trademark 50 years after it was sold outside the family.

“Partnering with Psudo has been a fantastic journey,” said John Florsheim, president and chief operating officer of Weyco Group Inc., in a statement. “To be able to learn the latest in sustainable footwear technology and work with a team who is passionate about their craft has been a pleasure. We enjoy exploring new ways to spark conversations with new audiences, and this collaboration with Psudo is a great opportunity to do just that.”

The Florsheim x Psudo collection was made in Psudo’s Los Angeles factory with materials sourced in the United States. Psudo, which launched in 2020, opened its 5,000-sq.-ft factory in Vernon, Calif. in 2022 to deepen its roots as a made in America brand focused on sustainable footwear. Psudo shoes are made with yarn fashioned from recycled water bottles, and each pair of sneakers is composed of 75% recycled material and 7.2 plastic bottles, according to the company.

“When I reached out to them, we saw a fantastic opportunity to blend Florsheim’s rich heritage with the innovative and flexible approach that Psudo brings,” said said Psudo founder Michael Rich in a statement. “We believe this collaboration will be incredibly rewarding and inspiring for both brands, attracting new customers to both Florsheim and Psudo. Our creative teams have been working hand-in-hand, seamlessly combining our expertise to achieve a fresh look for both brands. We’re eagerly anticipating the outcomes of this collaboration and can’t wait to see what we achieve together.”
