Asda is selling ‘random’ muffins based on retro childhood sweets and they’re just 38p each

SHOPPERS are rushing to fill their baskets with “yummy” muffins inspired by retro sweets.

Asda fans were delighted to see the return of their favourite childhood candy in the bakery section.

The 38p treats, sold in packs of four at £1.50, offer customers another way to enjoy the iconic Refreshers and Drumsticks flavours.

An impressed shopper shared the useful on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group.

“Yummy just tried the drumstick ones,” penned one eager fan.

The baked Swizzles Refresher goodies are lemon flavoured with sour sugar and topped with sugar pearls.

While the Drumstick delights are a delicious swirl of raspberry and vanilla muffin mixtures.

Their return has been hailed by sweet-toothed Brits, who were sad to see the product pulled from shelves in 2022 from other major supermarkets.

It comes as other retro flavours have been making a comeback in the confectionary aisle.

McVitie’s is rolling out a new Jaffa Cake flavour inspired by a childhood sweet favourite – but fans are divided.

The delicious treat will swap out the traditional orange jelly with a Cola Bottle flavour instead.

And, shoppers are also desperate to try a new fizzy drink inspired by Slush Puppie – fans say they’d “kill for this”.

Home Bargains customers are delighted by the refreshing beverage offering quality taste at a discounted price.

The new mouthwatering Slush Puppie Fizzie Green Apple drink is flying off the shelves.

Meanwhile, Brits went wild for a popular 70s drink which has appeared again.

And, Irn Bru fans hailed new retro-inspired flavours – but you’ll have to act fast to snap them up.
