White MAGA commentator deletes post saying he's a Black woman voting for Trump

A MAGA commentator is furiously backpedaling after his social media account appeared to claim to be a Black woman attacking Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democrats' likely nominee for president, and supporting former President Donald Trump instead.

"I'm a TRUE Black American and I've been Black all my life," said the post on X, broadcast by the account @JoeyMannarinoUS, whose profile pic confirms he is a white man, and whose biography identifies him as an "Italian-American conservative populist."

"I was born Black and I will die Black," the account wrote. "My mommy Black. My daddy Black. I will NEVER cast a ballot for that Kamala Harris woman as long as I live! Trump all the way, all day every day!"

Mannarino deleted the tweet quickly — but not before people noticed — and screenshotted it.

"I just caught @JoeyMannarinoUS pretending to be a Black Woman voting as a Republican," wrote @BaloneyTony305. PLEASE SHARE THIS FAR AND WIDE. ALL MAGA HAS ARE LIES!!!"

After being called out, Mannarino tried to explain what happened.

"A tweet posted earlier from my account was the result of my account being logged in on a friend’s device," wrote Mannarino in a follow-up post. "Clearly, I am not a Black woman. Unlike the Democrat nominee for President, I don’t spend my time pretending to be a Black woman to garner votes under false pretense. The lesson here is always log yourself out when borrowing or using friend’s devices, because even months later you’ll stay logged in if you haven’t changed passwords. On to the next scandal."

Mannarino has previously invited mockery for claiming that the Titan submersible disaster was caused by "wokeness."

This is not the first time that a right-wing figure has been accused of forgetting to switch to their fake account before posting. In 2020, Dean Browning, a white man and self-proclaimed “proud pro-life & pro-2A Christian conservative,” who previously sat on the Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, commission, confused the internet when he tweeted: “I’m a black gay guy and I can personally say that Obama did nothing for me, my life only changed a little bit and it was for the worse."

"Everything is so much better under Trump though," the post said at the time. "I feel respected — which I never do when democrats are involved.”
