In the final tune-up for Team USA before the Olympics, LeBron James took over once again the fourth quarter to take down Germany.

LeBron James continues to defy Father Time in progressively more impressive fashion each passing day, this time leading Team USA to a 92-88 win over Germany in the final exhibition game before the 2024 Olympics on Monday.

Once again, LeBron led the team in scoring with 20 points with 11 of those coming in the fourth quarter. He added six rebounds and four assists on top of his scorching 8-11 shooting.

Anthony Davis battled foul trouble early and had one of his quietest games of the exhibition slate, finishing with 10 points on 3-5 shooting with seven rebounds, two assists and a block.

LeBron looked as bouncy as he has during the entire stretch of warm-up games. He opened the first quarter with a handful of highlight plays. He turned back the clock with an incredible reverse dunk and a soaring alley-oop finish, both in the opening minutes of the game.

He also was getting it done on the defensive end as well, coming up with a patented block from behind that led to a Steph Curry 3-pointer on the ensuing fastbreak.

Anthony Davis’ first half was relatively quiet after he got in early foul trouble. He still made an impact on the defensive end as he always does, though.

After picking up two quick fouls, though, AD was saddled to the bench for the rest of the first half. While Team USA was far more serious than they were against South Sudan, Germany is also one of the best teams in the tournament and went on a run in the third quarter.

Once AD returned in the fourth, he immediately made an impact with a big and-one to start the fourth quarter and tie the game.

Once again, though, when it came to winning time, LeBron took over. With Germany leading in the final minutes, LeBron controlled both ends of the floor, grabbing rebounds, finishing at the rim and coming away with big steals.

He then knocked down an open 3-pointer with less than 90 seconds remaining and followed it up by punishing Dennis Schröder on a switch by finishing at the rim, putting Team USA up six with under a minute to go.

Those were the finishing touches on the win by LeBron, who finished alongside AD on the court in the final minutes with the game on the line. While Joel Embiid has looked improved in the last two games, it’s pretty clear that AD’s two-way ability will likely lead to him being the center on the floor in close games.

And with LeBron playing like this in the final two games, Team USA looks on their way to a gold medal.
