Netflix set to ‘reboot’ popular noughties MTV show after 20 years
NEW Netflix series Resurrected Rides is set to hit screens soon, offering a fresh take on the classic car makeover show Pimp My Ride.
The modern spin-off show promises to deliver incredible car transformations that will leave audiences amazed.
Just like the original MTV programme, Resurrected Rides features a team of expert mechanics and designers who will work their magic on some of the most run-down vehicles.
Viewers will be able to witness the step-by-step transformation of each car, whether it’s getting a paint job or completely fresh interiors.
According to Netflix, Resurrected Rides plans to use modern automotive artistry to help vehicle owners “transform their beloved beaters into roadworthy masterpieces”.
The show will be led by Saturday Night Live comedian Chris Redd.
He shared his excitement for the new series, saying: “We took an iconic concept and gave it a fresh twist, all while helping people along the way.
“Plus, we got to roast, prank, and even ‘steal’ folks’ cars on a show budget! This show truly has it all!”
Also on board is one of the original co-creators of Pimp My Ride, Rick Hurvitz.
He is set to be one of the executive producers of the new series, along with Mike Odair, Brandon Killion, and Ari Shofet.
Ari shared: “This is an aspirational and wish-fulfillment show with a comedic lens, and we’re excited to give deserving folks a mind-blowing automotive makeover.”
Rick added: “We took the spirit and knowledge from the original [series] and reimagined it with a hilarious host, brand-new cast, plus the eye-popping technology and culture of today.”
