I refuse to send my kids, 8 & 9, to school as it’s like ‘prison’ – people judge but I left at 14 & I’m a millionaire
A MUM has revealed that she has taken her eight and nine year old children out of school, as she believes it is like a “prison”.
Cassyanne made the decision to take her young daughters Bug and Bunny out of school five months ago, and stated that she has received a lot of criticism for her decision, including from her mother.
However, the business owner and social media influencer said that she isn’t fazed by the judgement, as she herself dropped out of school at 14, and is now a millionaire.
Cassyanne said that she always knew that she wanted to take her children out of school after Year 6, but decided to pull them out earlier, “because of the way the schooling system is”.
Speaking to Truly, she said: “I don’t like what’s being taught in school.
“I think a child learns more from having freedom than from sitting in a classroom for 6-8 hours”.
Cassyanne said that her children did not get a say in whether they were pulled out or not, but said that in the future they can choose to go to university or college if they want to.
On a Monday, Bug and Bunny have a tutor to home-school them, and the children learn to cook and clean for the rest of the week.
The girls said that they miss their friends, but like that they don’t have to do maths and science anymore.
Cassyanne, who is from a traveller background said: “I do believe that me coming out of school early has had a big influence on the children.
“I’ve got no GCSE’s and I’ve built a very successful business.
“Everything I’ve ever wanted in life I’ve managed to get myself.”
The young girls are already becoming entrepreneurs, with Bug selling heatless curlers online.
Despite their young age, Cassyanne lets her daughters have fake eyelashes, and said she has tinted their eyebrows, “since they were babies.”
She also “spoils” her children with designer clothes and handbags, as “they deserve it”.
Homeschooling Rules in the UK

- English and Welsh parents do not need permission to educate their child at home, but they must notify the school in writing if they are withdrawing their child from a school to home educate
- Scottish parents must obtain consent from their local council before withdrawing their child from school, unless the child has never attended a public school
- Parents must ensure their child receives an efficient full-time education suitable to their age, ability, and any special educational needs
- There is no requirement to follow the National Curriculum, take standard exams, or adhere to school hours
However, parents still need to ensure their little ones are being adequalty educated. Otherwise, your local council can step in.
- Your local council can make informal inquiries to ensure your child is receiving adequate education
- They may even request information about the home education provision to ensure the learning material is suitable
- If the council believes your child is falling short, it can serve a School Attendance Order or issue a notice for attendance
The mum-of-two said: “I don’t really care about people that judge me for my parenting.
“If they’ve got something to say I just take it with a pinch of salt.”
Among those who critique Cassyanne’s parenting is her mother.
“I think that there’s certain skills that children need to learn from school that they can’t learn from home”, she said.
“What can school give them that I can’t?” said Cassyanne.
“Education?”, her mother shot back.
