Katie took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share her find – a Polaroid P1 portable music player.

While the speaker is £49.99 online, the speaker is less than a tenner in Home Bargains.

“Found in home bargains, Burnley for £9.99 and RPP is £49.99,” Katie wrote alongside her snap.

The little speaker she’d picked up was in yellow, but it also comes in black, red and blue.

With 10 watts of power, it’s perfect for small spaces and gatherings, such as a BBQ.

It’s also dust and water resistant, and has 10 hours of battery life so it can last the whole night long.

As an added bonus “you can just tap two players together to create a stereo pair, making this an awesome shared experience”.

The comments section was quickly filled with people weighing in on the purchase, with many admitting they’d already snapped up one of the bargains.

“I got this in red last week – it’s brilliant for the price,” one wrote.

“My daughter bought one few weeks ago,” another added.

“Seen them in lots of Home Bargains since. Great speakers!”

“Buy two and you can link them together by putting them back to back,” a third commented.

“Twice as loud and plays in stereo.”

“My son bought my daughter one for her birthday for £50 and week later they came in Home Bargains but my son didn’t keep the receipt,” someone else wrote.

“He never learns haha!

Government advice on BBQ safety

The UK Government have issued some guidelines for staying safe whilst using a barbecue:

  • Keep a bucket of water, sand or a garden hose nearby for emergencies.
  • Follow the safety instructions provided with your gas, charcoal, or disposable barbecue.
  • Never use a barbecue indoors, in a tent, under an awning or in a caravan.
  • Use enough charcoal to cover the base of the barbecue, but not more (normally around 5cms or 2 inches).
  • Keep children, pets and garden games away from the cooking area.
  • After cooking, make sure the barbecue is cool before moving it.
  • Empty ashes onto bare garden soil, not into dustbins or wheelie bins. If they’re hot, they can melt the plastic and cause a fire.
  • Make sure your barbecue is well away from sheds, fences, trees, shrubs or garden waste.
  • In the countryside or public park areas, only use disposable barbecues where there are specially designated areas and carefully follow the safety guidance.
  • Enjoy yourself, but don’t drink too much alcohol if you are in charge of the barbecue.
  • Never use petrol or paraffin to start or revive your barbecue; use only recognised lighters or starter fuels on cold coals.

“But bought some more from home bargains as you can pair them up and use 2 together they are great.”

“Got a couple last week, I’m well impressed,” another added.

“Great bargain,” someone else said.

“I’m looking for one of these!” another insisted.

As someone else wrote: “I got the last blue one for my little girl’s birthday yesterday.

“It was great and the sound is fab!”
