How Skims turned advertising into an art form

For its advertising creativity, Skims is a winner of Fast Company’s 2024 Innovation by Design Awards.

When Kim Kardashian posted a video on TikTok last October to promote Skims’s new Ultimate Nipple Bra, it felt at first like an infomercial spoof. Opening in a faux Skims office, purposefully decorated in a warm range of skin tones, Kardashian sits behind a computer in a beige unitard. “The Earth’s temperature is getting hotter and hotter,” she says, wearing the bra that features fake nipple inserts. “I’m not a scientist, but I believe everyone can use their skill set to do their part.”
