San Rafael crews battle house fire
Fire crews fought a two-alarm fire that burned a hilltop home in San Rafael on Monday. Two occupants escaped without injury, San Rafael Deputy Chief Robert Sinnott said.
At 2:25 p.m., San Rafael firefighters responded to the incident at 100 Oakmont Ave. Sinnott reported that the fire burned the garage and living areas in the home. He said that firefighters contained it within 40 minutes and prevented it from spreading to neighboring buildings.
Investigators believed that the fire originated in a parked vehicle’s engine at the garage. No estimated cost in damages were available Monday afternoon.
