Closure on highway this weekend

Construction work on the Limassol to Nicosia highway will close all lanes in one direction this weekend.

The public works department said all lanes leading into Nicosia will be closed between 8pm on Friday and 3pm on Sunday.

The closure will extend from Alikos bridge to the Latsia Weighing Station to allow for the removal and repositioning of the road’s surface layer, part of the Nicosia Ring Road Phase A1 project.

Cars travelling from Limassol to Nicosia will be diverted into the opposite lane.

The department apologised for the “unavoidable inconvenience” of the project.
