Major supermarket slashes the price of school uniforms for the end-of-year & you can get next year’s outfit for 25% off
IF you have kids that will go back to school or start in September, you may wish to pop to Tesco.
The supermarket chain’s 25 per cent off school uniform sale is back, and shoppers are rushing to snap up cut-price trousers, tops and jumpers.
The discounts started today (July 23), and a shopper confirmed that they had landed in her local store.
Taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, she wrote: “25% off all school uniform launched in Tesco today.”
Her snaps showed numerous racks of school trousers, pinafore dresses, shirts and jumpers available at reduced prices.
It doesn’t tend to run for a long time, so it might be a good idea to stock up while you can.
You need to ensure you have your Tesco Clubcard or app when you get to the till so the discount is applied.
Many shoppers seemed keen to take advantage of the savings, with one saying: I’ll start getting some.”
TESCO’s F&F range is great value for money, with top-quality features.
These include adjustable waists, stain-repellent fabrics and colour that lasts.
But it also has a one-year guarantee, so if any of your uniform does not last, the store will replace it for you.
Mini-models Anaya Dodhia Rasul, seven, and Emanoel Roberts Dos Santos, six, gave Fabulous their verdicts on the Tesco range.
Emanoel says: “It is a really good jumper, it’s soft and warm.”
His mum Raquel says: “This jumper is lovely. With a fleece lining, it will see him through winter. These trousers are pretty good. they are thick with an adjustable waist so they will last as he grows.”
Anaya says: “This cardigan isn’t as soft as some of the other ones but it’s OK. The polo top is nice too.”
Dad Nas says: “Nice and simple, not too frilly. The skirt is adjustable on this one too, which is great.”
The big supermarkets tend to put on this kind of deal at the beginning of summer every year.
This is so parents can stock up ready for the start of the new school year in September.
It comes as school uniform prices are continuing to hit families hard as the cost of living continues to squeeze household budgets.
Other chains offering bargain deals on kids’ uniforms are Aldi and Marks and Spencer.
Discounter Aldi is bringing back its popular £5 uniform bundle deal this year.
Aldi’s essential bundle costs just £5 and is made up of sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts, trousers, skirts and cargo shorts.
It’s available in stores only from July 4, families will need to act fast because as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone.
M&S has held prices on its school uniform since 2021 and has confirmed the return of its popular 20% off school uniform early bird offer from July 2.
You can get the discount by shopping online or in stores where uniform is stocked.
How can I save money on school uniforms?
IF you are struggling to afford the cost of school uniform or PE kit, you may be able to apply for a grant from your local council - but the criteria vary from council to council.
This is usually in the form of a one-off payment paid directly into your bank account. Some councils will reimburse payments made to approved retailers.
You can ask your local council what help is available and when you need to apply.
If you can’t get targeted help from your council, there are other options to get cheap uniform.
Speak to your school to see if they can offer you some clothing.

Charity shops can also be a good place to find cheap school uniform.
