Channel 4 star Harry Savage’s death is third heartbreak to hit family after both parents died

THE death of the Channel 4 star Harry Savage is the third tragedy to hit the family after both his parents died.

Harry, who starred alongside his brother Frank, on the reality show Hunted, was found dead at a home in Putney, south-west London, on July 19.

Frank was a star contestant in the 2019 finale of Hunted – in which 14 ordinary people have to go on the run for nearly a month while eluding a team of expert sleuths and trackers.

It was on the show that the brothers revealed their family heartbreak about their parents.

Harry broke down in tears as pent-up emotions surrounding his mum’s death just four months ago got the better of him.

After finding his brother sat in a corner, crying on his own, Frank asked him: “Is it getting a bit emotional?”

Admitting the lack of distractions they had on the run was giving him more time to reflect, Harry responded: “It just gives you time to think, doesn’t it?”

Showing the brothers’ last interview before starting their Hunted mission, Harry said: “Mum only died in the last four months,  but even dad was only five years ago, so it’s all still quite fresh.”

Revealing what happened to their parents, Frank confessed: “Mum was diagnosed with dementia, she was young, and within three years it killed her.

“My dad was more of a shock. He was fit and healthy.

“They found him at home dead of a heart attack at 55.”

And the heartbreaking footage continued as Frank gave his brother some heartfelt words of advice: “You ain’t gotta be tough all the time. It’s alright to let it out now and again.”

The family has now suffered further tragedy with the death of Harry in mysterious circumstances.

A post-mortem examination began on July 20 and officers await the outcome.

Detectives from Wandsworth are investigating the incident as an “unexpected death”.

A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and has been bailed pending further enquiries, Met Police say.

Officers are in contact with the victim’s family and will be supporting them as enquiries continue.

Tributes have already been paid to Harry, 26, on social media.

One person posted: “What a sad day. RIP Harry Savage. One of the most beautiful souls on this earth. Rest well sweet angel.”

Another wrote: “I am lost for words. Such a beautiful soul… one of the nicest guys I’ve ever had the privilege to know.”

Harry's last social media post

Harry Savage posted a tragic last post of himself enjoying sunny Ibiza just weeks before he was found dead.

The star of the reality show posted a photo of himself looking relaxed on the Spanish Island.

The 26-year-old from Essex is seen smiling at the camera as he stands in front of the sea on May 30.

Harry simply captioned the social media post with “Ibiza, it’s been a minute.”

His Instagram page is full of pictures of the reality star on his travels, including going skiing in Val Thorens, France, flying off to Toronto, Canada, and going island hopping in Greece.

Harry was aged 20 when he appeared on the show and was a drama student.

Earlier this year, Harry’s brother Frank Savage, 28, won in a bitter court fight against his life coach uncle over a £1million family farm and campsite.

Backed by his brother and other siblings, Frank has been battling his millionaire uncle over the family inheritance – Pleasant Rise Farm, in Sussex.

Ownership of the farm is now shared between Frank, his three brothers and sisters, and their 76-year-old uncle Ray Savage.

The farm has been in the Savage family for three generations and is home to a popular campsite.

Ray – a former police detective – wanted the prime 76-acre site close to the Sussex coast sold to the highest bidder in the wake of his split from wife Vanessa in 2015.

But Frank sued him, adamant that the farm should stay in the family.

Frank won in London’s Court of Appeal after a top judge ruled that a previous decision to hand control of the farm to Ray was wrong.
