Victims identified in fatal plane crash at Long Island airport: SCPD

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (PIX11) – The victims of a fatal plane crash at a Long Island airport on Monday were identified, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

The pilot was identified as 46-year-old Christopher Kucera, of Virginia, and the passenger was identified as 43-year-old Zachary Hatcher, also of Virginia.

A single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza A36 took off at a runway at MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma around 6 p.m., police say. The plane then returned to the runway shortly after and crashed.

No other injuries were reported.

The FAA and NTSB are both investigating the crash, according to authorities.
