WARWICK, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Warwick man was arrested twice in 14 hours for drug possession, stolen property, and grand larceny. State Troopers said William J. Mauriello, 38, was arrested on Sunday, July 21, and Monday, July 22, both during traffic stops.

Troopers said they stopped Mauriello on Route 50 in Wilton for traffic violations. While investigating, Troopers said Mauriello didn't have a valid driver's license and possessed a smoking device with drug residue and new items with the price tags still attached.

Troopers contacted businesses in Wilton and discovered that the new items were stolen and amounted to roughly $700. Troopers arrested Mauriello and released him with an appearance ticket for Wilton Town Court on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

Additionally, Troopers said they were called to Ballard Road in Wilton on July 22 for a stolen vehicle. Just over an hour after the report was made, the vehicle was found on Lark Street in Albany, and Mauriello was arrested again.

Troopers processed Mauriello at the State Police barracks in Wilton and arraigned in Wilton Town Court. Mauriello was released under the supervision of the Saratoga County Probation Department.
