Yellow warning, winds and chance of rains

A yellow weather warning is in place on Wednesday for extreme temperatures in effect from 11am until 5pm.

The day will be mostly clear with increased clouds in the afternoon bringing a chance of isolated rain in the mountains. Temperatures will rise to 41C inland, 38C on the north, south and east coasts, and 33C on the west coast and in the higher mountains. Winds will be mainly south- to north-westerly, initially weak, to moderate, up to 4 Beaufort, later turning to strong, up to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be rough.

Overnight will remain mostly clear with some low cloud on the coasts, especially in the west and north. During the evening and morning hours fog may form southeast and inland. Temperatures will drop to 24C in the interior and on the west coast, 25C on the remaining coasts and 21C in the higher mountains. Winds will remain mainly south-to north-westerly and later becoming variable, up to moderate, 4 Beaufort and gradually abating. The sea will remain slightly rough.

Thursday will be partly cloudy with isolated rains and storms expected in the mountains and the interior. A drop in temperatures is expected bringing them inline with the average for the season.

Friday and Saturday will be mainly clear with afternoon mountain rains and temperatures are expected to remain steady.
