35 private sector specialists appointed in central govt depts since 2018: Centre

The Indian government has appointed 35 specialists from the private sector to various central government departments through lateral entry since 2018, Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh announced on Wednesday. These appointments at the levels of joint secretary, director, and deputy secretary aim to leverage specialized knowledge and expertise. Out of 63 total lateral appointments, 35 are from the private sector. Currently, 57 officers hold positions in ministries and departments.
