ScottishPower earnings fall after handing back energy crisis allowance to Ofgem

The Spanish-owned power company made big gains in its renewables and network businesses, despite a one-off hit to its supply arm.

ScottishPower said its earnings fell 11% in the first half of the year to just over £1 billion, as the energy company took a one-off hit on handing back price cap allowances.
